Recommended Training Treats

I have compiled lists of products that I really like. Not all toys/treats/chews are created equal. Clients are encouraged to contact me and ask questions if they are not certain about a product. When it comes to dog supplies in most instances you get what you pay for! These items can be found online but some are also sold at local small business.

PLEASE shop local whenever you can!

Training Treats

Treats used for training should be small, semi-moist and smelly!  Much of your dogs daily calories will likely consist of “training treats”, I highly recommend using food that is nutritionally complete most of the time.

It is important to know your dogs treat preferences in a general order of value. Avoid using things at the top of list when food of lesser value will do but don’t be stingy when it counts! Novelty is a big factor in value for dogs, plan to have 4 or more foods on hand at time that you rotate through, while adding a new one regularly.

* That’s right human food is a great training tool. I often purchase precooked cubed chicken breast at my local Fred Meyers freezer section. You can use anything your dog likes! (Including their kibble!)
